About THE MAURITIUS COMMERCIAL BANK MADAGASCAR SA
The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd has opened a representative office in Antananarivo in 1991. In December 1992, it creates a full-service bank Union Commercial Bank in partnership with the Standard Bank of South Africa, the Company and Fiaro Manofi Company. The primary objective of this facility was to support the relocation of industries to Mauritian Free Zone Madagascar. The first branch opened in Antananarivo in the neighborhood Antsahavola December 28, 1992. Wishing to close transactions with abroad, a second branch was born 23 October 1998 in the port city of Toamasina. On 24 September 1999 The branch network is reinforced in Antananarivo with the opening of an office in the Zoom Gallery in Ankonrondrano. During recent years, UCB has diversified its business to become a leading bank in the economic landscape Madagascar. Effective February 5, 2007, a new branch was opened in the second port city of Mahajanga country on the west coast of Madagascar. In 2007, Union Commercial Bank initiated a new stage in its development and to assert more belonging to the Group of The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd, First Bank of Mauritius, a new name was adopted:
