National Reserve Bank (NRB) was established in April 1994 as a Limited Liability Partnership. In 1995, the Bank was bought from its previous owners of several partners, the largest of which was the RAO "Gazprom". Existing shareholders have come to Bulgaria in June 1995 of the "Russian Investment Financial Company" (RIFK) that specialized in working with Soviet and Russian commercial debt.
