The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to promoting financial literacy and empowering individuals and families to make informed financial decisions. Established in 1992, NEFE evolved from the College for Financial Planning, which was the first institution to offer financial planning education in the U.S. NEFE offers various financial education programs, including the High School Financial Planning Program (HSFPP), which serves high school and middle-grade students, and CashCourse, aimed at college students. These programs reach over half a million students annually and have been adapted for use in multiple countries. NEFE also emphasizes scholarly research and collaborates with practitioners, advocates, and policymakers to enhance financial education and decision-making across diverse populations.
