Collegedale Credit Union was established in May of 1952 in the basement of the Administration Building on the campus of Southern Missionary College. The Credit Union was founded by local Collegedale residents who saw a financial need in the community. They believed they could offer lower interest rates on loans and higher interest rates on savings. It was organized and given a charter by the State Banking Commission.
